The Uniform Building Code is one of the most widely adopted model building codes in the world and is a proven document meeting the needs of government units charged with enforcement of building regulation. The most recent edition, published in 1997, provides complete regulations covering all major aspects of building design and construction relating to fire and life safety and structural safety. The provisions of the 1997 Uniform Building Code were published in three volumes to help building inspectors, plans examiners, architects and structural designers locate provisions applicable to their respective fields without the need to search through all provisions. The two most popular volumes, 1 and 2, are now available from Delmar Learning. Volume 2 contains provisions for structural engineering design, including those design provisions formerly in the UBC Standards. These design provisions have been incorporated into the applicable chapter as divisions of the chapter.

1Formating changes make this a challenging book to read  Nov 06, 1998
1. The overwhelming amount of format changes since '94 edition were unnecesary and confusing. Reference books such as these need a standardized format to allow for easier access to information. 2. Removal of many convenient tables and charts make this book less useful. 3. Calculations too complex to be of practical use. Complexity will certainly lead to errors.

Received book in record time, and in great condition.
Hubby needed it, but cost of new one was prohibitive.

1I have ordered it twice and still I didn't receive it  Sep 07, 2008 By Vasilescu Ionut Popp Asociatii
I've ordered this product at the beginning of June. It should have arrived in July. In August, I hadn't received it. I called Amazon.com and complained about this. I was told that the package had probably been lost and that a new package would be sent to me as soon as possible which should arrive at the end of August. It's September and I still don't have my ordered book. What is happening??
